Friday 5

Yes, I missed last week..I was taking a much needed weekend off in the busy spring season of working nights and weekends!

The past two weeks have been seriously insane....it's always busy in the spring but this year crazier than usual.  Two more weeks to go and things will slow down.  I. Will. Make. It.  

I hope.

So....instead of spending 10 minutes I really don't have tonight...I'm just doing all highlights of Cora...she is 8 months old today and is getting to be quite the little Miss Personality.

She currently loves taking her socks off and eating them; rolling under things; sleeping in all sorts of cute positions; swinging; being tickled; being upside-down; eating her mama's face; playing with/eating books; exploring new food; and much much more.

Her very favorite thing....what she absolutely laughs hysterically at....is if she is sitting on a bed and someone is sitting on the floor.  I mean it cracks her up.  Everytime, anytime, anyone, any bedroom...she thinks it's the funniest thing ever.

She is a great happy spot to come home to after a long day or week or month.

We did have a really great weekend last weekend with my cousins in town to go through my grandpa's stuff.  We were all able to acquire some things to remind us of our wonderful grandparents -- I'll be sharing my finds in posts to come!

Friday 5

Oh what a week.....

1. Cora and I helped Apa clean the shop so he can seal the floor and Andy can get to work on Cora's bed.

2. Andy took Jordan on a tour of the fire station -- Jman loved it and so did Cora.

3. I got a new arts and crafts project to start for C-Dazzle's room

4. this is my marathon work schedule of the year....12 days of work in a row, then a weekend off, then two more weekends of work. sigh.

5. the worst part of all the work is missing time with this little face:

sigh.

So as we are sitting around finishing up breakfast this morning, I begin to think about our plans for the day:

sandy: so what's on our plate for today?

andrew: well...it looks like you've got nothing and I've got one egg...and I'm going to get a piece of toast. (insert smirking giggle)

sandy: silence

andrew: (fake innocence) oh! is the not what you were asking?

sandy: don't talk to me.

this is why we can't be friends. happy saturday.

FRIDAY 5

Oh hello Friday, glad to see you.  This week:

1. The fam decided to take a week off of our healthy eating challenge before going another 8 weeks.  So, naturally the day before the new challenge start my mom was treating us to a pan of bar cookies...she nicely asked me to get them in the pan and put them in the oven after she mixed them up. 

When we went to take them out of the oven the chocolate chips had done the weirdest thing....

bahaha.

2. The trees are flowering! and although my allergies were super crazy -- we discovered the tree outside our apt is my fave! Look at the gorgeous flowers!!!

3. Bread. I love it. what else needs to be said.  This loaf was from the K-State Bake Club - always delicious.

4. Cora slept in her own room last night.  We missed her.  And guessing from the number of times she woke up, she missed us too, but it was nice to be able to turn the lights on in our bedroom when going to bed and getting dressed.

 

5. Got to have a quick, spontaneous, glorious chat with the bestie on my way to work this morning! day made.

And just because it seems wrong not to have a snapshot of cute little girls on this post....

This also proves that she is glad it is Friday, and that she's no worse for the wear of sleeping in her own room!

We finally got Cora a bed this weekend!! I'm sure the little pumpkin will miss us, but alas, her bed is here:

 

 She seems pretty excited to be sitting on her bed in this picture....

She was less excited when we told her she had to start sleeping on her bed...

hopefully it takes form a little quicker than this little adventure...

Friday 5

Happy weekend!  

1. This week Cora turned 7 months....as you can see here.  She is really into rolling around, sitting up on her own, laughing and smiling at her daddy and eating my face.  Yea, I don't know, she thinks I am delicious.

2. So, I couldn't figure out why I kept having so many messages on my phone.  I really am not out of my office that much.  Then there was that "oh yea, remember when I was meeting with someone and my phone kept ringing so I shut the ringer off. awesome."

3. Of course Easter was this week.  The high point of the church calendar and a day of wandering around in a sugar haze...in search of more cookies.

4. Yay! great weather for playing outside! Hopefully spring is here to stay.  J-Dizzle had to take a break from picking up rocks with his pliers to have a snack.

5. Our table is clean!! Unfortunately out kitchen table is right inside the door and often becomes a dropping place for whatever we are carrying when we walk in the door -- but YAY! it's clean!!! 

Looking forward to a weekend of being outside and enjoying the nice weather!!!

So C-Dazzle is the big 7 months today:

"oh, haha, my mom is so funny. seriously. LOVE HER. she keeps asking when I'm going to sleep through the night...ha! sleep through the night?? she's such a riot!"

She went swinging for the first time last weekend...yes, I know her socks don't match....sometimes life just happens that way.



She fell asleep holding on to her little hanging cow. It really is exhausting being 7 months.
