A little later than promised but...here you go:

First things first...very important to have a plan.  Here they are discussing ...well honestly I don't really listen when they are talking, but I'm sure it was important technical boat launch safety information.

Clever Megan brought the champagne to christen "Amelia".

Also, I would like to point out that not only did they name their boat after an explorer that went missing and was never heard from again...but also that Andy is wearing SWIMMING TRUNKS...yea. Maybe everyone wasn't as confident as they were pretending to be...hmm...???

Awww...that's so cute how they are helping each other.

There has been talk of a second boat already..I'm hoping the next one is one you can ski behind!

The Olympic athletes aren't the only world class athletes in competition lately....

this past Sunday Andy participated in his first summer biathlon.

Starting with a 1500 m run...followed by taking 5 shots in the prone position (you'll notice he hit them all!!)

Then a 2000 meter run...before he hit 5/5 targets in the standing position...

Then finishing out with another 1500 meter run.... 

eating watermelon wasn't part of the competition..but I think he had good form for double fisting it.

He was one of 3 male competitors (maybe 40 total) to hit all 10 targets!  His sharp shooting earned him the ability to deduct 3:45 from his total time...finishing 2nd in the 20-29 male age group with a time of 22:21.

Construction on my dad's new shop has officially started...dirt and gravel work was started yesterday....


J-dizzle was super excited to get to sit in the skid steer and the "roller"..

almost as excited as Andy....

We are so excited to have tomatoes to can this year! We've already done a batch of pizza sauce, and last night was just crushed tomatoes...

Although, admittedly, canning tomatoes for hours when you are almost 9 months pregnant is not the ideal situation...we still had fun!

Go for launch....

It's here folks, proof that miracles do happen....

On June 18, 2010, Andy and Dalton embarked on a journey to build a boat, it was a very special time (seriously, this video NEVER gets old..) in all of our lives...

Now...just a mere 2 years, 1 month, and 11 days later...the blink of an eye really (no, not really, how could building a boat the size of a bathtub take over 2 years..I thought about listing all the major world events to happen in this same time...but this list was way to long..) the boat finally had it's official launch yesterday...complete with a champagne christening and all! (pics to come later, those are on our "real" camera....couldn't chance shotty cell photos with such an long awaited IMPORTANT event)

 

In the end you can't argue with success....I mean it does float!! Good work boys!

baby it's cold outside....

Okay, it's actually a billion degrees out....but I have been busy making blankets for the babies to come...

I finished 2 for my sister -- a big and a little (but apparently forgot to take photos)...just in time for their baby to come TODAY hopefully!!!

Then some leftover fabric from blankets gone by to make this little guy for our new baby:

 Not too bad for leftover fabric!  Still have to make another bigger one with new fabric I ordered...

AND

there maybe another one getting designed this weekend for my our new MN niece/nephew...

hopefully a good weekend ahead of sewing and watching the olympics...

My Uncle Kelly recently took a break from googling "cats named pickles" and sending the results to Andy (see context here, and here  and here. and here and here).... to share a link he found on ebay for this lovely antique general electric refridgerator ... with an asking price of $2500. 

Nice, eh? I'm not EXACTLY sure  what his point was....but there was some reference made to the similar antique refrigerator that used to be in his sister's garage that is now my dad's smoker....

I guess now he can brag about having a $2500 smoker...or give someone a really good lesson in opportunity cost.

Those ribs tomorrow better be pretty good...
